FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING THE PROVINCIALS.....

HOW DO ATHLETES GET INTO THE PROVINCIALS?
The top 5 athletes who have earned the most points in their division will qualify to compete in the Provincial Championships.

HOW DO ATHLETES EARN POINTS TO GET INTO THE TOP 5?
Athletes earn points for winning First through fourth place at SMAA sanctioned tournaments. After each tournament the points are added to the Provincial Ratings which are posted below.

WHAT IF I THERE IS AN ERROR OR OMISSION IN THE RATINGS?
We do our best to ensure ratings are entered correctly but there is the possibility of errors. If you have any concerns regarding your ratings please HAVE YOUR INSTRUCTOR contact the SMAA office as soon as possible and they will look into the issue. If you would like to express a concern regarding an error in the ratings the following information is needed:
1.) Athlete Name
2) Athlete School & Instructor Name
3.) Athlete Age & Belt
4.) Tournament in question
5.) Details of the error - please include what are posted on the ratings and what the athlete actually placed.
- You must include the division that they placed in (age, belt, event ex sparring, forms) and what placement they received ex. 1st, 2nd ect...
